The retailers tell me that the shelve-life is about 48 hrs per shipment.

I was thinking of just buying one of each piece and hold on to them for years just to see what becomes of their value, but others tell me that they’re too mass-produced and wont retain any value.

YEAH ? If they’re so mass-produced…Why can I find them them?

What pieces are harder to find ? Lightning McQueen I’m told is the easiest.

No, no no – NOT KMart, WalMart, Etoys, ToysRUs, Target, Amazon, Disney Store, Radio Shack – Of course I’ve been to all of those. The stores either sell out within minutes of opening after the truck comes in (ToysRUs 2 hours away), or they don’t get a truck for 3-4 weeks (Kmart), or they have pitiful stock (Target), or they are sold out or “to be shipped in late August) – the online stores you mentioned. I was hoping for some creative finds … I’ve heard CVS, WalGreen, Sam’s Club, BJ’s Wholesale – but the ones around here say they didn’t carry them. Surely, there are some other sites.
